I had this dream where there was a woman's body growing out of a branch of a tree that was reaching over beige sand and towards the ocean in the light of the setting sun. It made me think of the Odyssey and all the supernatural places and beings that voyages bring about. Days have intertwined into nights and back into days. It is clear in my mind that many voyages are still to come. They await me and I await them.

But it isn't always that clear in my mind as the streets and speed of the city engulf my attention and time... Still what an interesting part of the voyage this has been; what interesting and unique people I have encountered, what interesting work I have been lucky to find. All this and I am so grateful to have had my family around this summer.

So be aware that the vicissitudes may seem steep and then disappear into the more complex interwoven patchwork of what could be called the neverending story.

intertwined

Shame how we can't always communicate who we really are to each other. Shame how this is actually much more usual than not. And shame how things are more forgotten than remembered. But no shame in being human, being unique, being unusual, inexplicable, ineffable, and incomprehensible.

All that water and air, and space between the sun and the earth.  I'm so tired today.  The charming bay still has light on it as the moon illuminates the sky here.  I'm excited about Alaska at the end of August!
