memory and perception
I will never remember the name of the girl I kissed in pre-school. It was at that pre-school on the hill where they had cowboy day when we ate 'cowboy beans' (baked beans) and dressed in cowboy clothing.
And isn't it strange that the part of the eye that takes in all the colors and all the light is black.
perspectives: the cold death that is winter
When winter falls down on our weary minds we often forget that life also springs from that murky ground.
Winter is a good time to remind oneself of of sunshine (and of all the things that sunshine permits)- of those beautiful places where I am not. They are far, wide, and full of life - from Sicily to Amakusa.

The Best President in the World
For the first time in my life I feel as though my country has the best president in the world. I no longer dream of moving to Canada, as great as Canada is. I do realize how impossible Obama's job is, but I also feel great pride that my country finally made the right choice. Thank the forces of nature for letting this happen, and thank Obama's mother for raising such a wonderful person into this world. Now we can open the door to an incredibly hopeful and exciting future.

Vanitas vanitatum, omnia vanitas.
The saga continues...
- Intricacies, entanglements, and nature's human weavings. I rode the 6 train from Spring to 103. I passed 23, 14, 68, 77, 86, 42, 96, and 33. 28. History - reading An Artist of the Floating World. Smoking a cigar, wearing tweed, contemplating Ecclesiastes. Eating German food at Loreley. Discussing the true nature of scatology and my experience in the with strange tasting Vermont snow. Micro-lecturing human evolution and the animal world during Spanish class. The last scenes of the film Manhattan. This is my life right now. Laugh at it, it's funny.
