costa rica: pure life dreams

One week with a flying bus, magical monkeys, living flowers, a beach raccoon, and one night in the most magically disgusting hotel room with an awesome lesbian couple I met on the flying bus (separate beds of course).

It was really fun taking pictures of the monkeys.  The photos are true to life: they never held still.

I realized and remembered a lot of important things during my 6 day trip.  Now I will try to never forget those things again.

Tomorrow I leave for Costa Rica.  I'm going to sit on the beach, take pictures of monkeys, meditate on life (but not too much), and sleep 10 hours per night.  Manhattan is such a place of contradictions.  It's hard to leave, but yet feels like prison after too long.  And Central Park is the prison's courtyard; I've always loved parks and courtyards.  There are hawks that prey on squirrels in Central Park.

One question that I now ponder: how much should one value comfort?  When is it better to be uncomfortable or unsettled?  Or, perhaps: is the dominant culture affecting individuals such that they rarely can feel comfortable and content (so that they may always be active consumers)?

I also think about how our globe will change in the next 100 years...  or even 92 years...  Could folks in the year 1908 have known what the next 92 years would bring?  Certainly not.

Yo Yoko Ono

My friend texted me that she'd be working at Yoko's opening, so I went....  It was a good night in Chelsea / West Village.  My favorite moment was when my friend handed Yoko the polaroids she took of her.  It was a sweet moment.  I wanted to say "dozo yoroshiku onegai wo itashimasu" but I didn't have enough time!
